ROYAL GERARD

Source: Crawfordsville Review 15 May 1923

Last honors for Dr. Royal H. Gerard, distinguised man in the fraternal world and well known citizen of Crawfordsville, will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the First Methodist Church of which Dr. Gerard was an old member. The services will be in charge of the Rev. MH Appleby and the Rev. UG Leazenby, friends of the deceased. Dr. Gerard was widely known throughout the country and the necessary arrangements have been made to take care of the large crowd of out of town people who are expected to attend the funeral. Word has been received of many persons of prominence who expect to attend the funeral. The officers and employees of the Tribe of Ben Hur will occupy a special section of the church. The remainder will be for the use of all others who wish to attend the rites. All of the numerous fraternal organizations of which Dr. Gerard was a member plan to send representatives to the service. They will sit in a body in the chapel. The burial is to be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Among those who have arrived for the services are: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jeffs, Chicago, Ill; Al Salmon, Memphis Tenn; Dr. HV Beardsley Dallas, Tex; LM Hundley, Champaign, Ill; Dr. Walter Mansell, Columbus, O; RG Hungate, Columbus, O and JM Lundley, Akron, Ohio.- kbz
